Important: For each Office package, disable the Cache policy before completing the steps below.


Downloading software

  1. Download the latest updater packages individually from http://macadmins.software
  2. In Finder, right-click each package and press Compress to zip the package
    NOTE (Catalina users): Compress in Catalina sets public permissions to No Access so right-click > Get Info and change permissions for everyone to Read-only.
  3. Upload the packages to Jamf Pro Admin by dragging them into the main window
  4. Set the packages to Install on Boot Drive After Imaging under the Options tab for each package
  5. Configure each package category as Software - Tier 1
  6. Press File > Save to save the changes


Smart Groups

  1. For each software package, edit the Latest, Outdated and Cached smart groups with the new version number


Policies

  1. For each software package, edit the Cache and Install policies and update those policies with the newly uploaded package
  2. Ensure that the Cache policy package action is "Cache" and the Install policy package action is "Install Cached"
  3. Enable the Cache policies for each package
  4. For each software package, flush the logs for all 3 policies
